Purple-Yellow-White Premium Dichroic Glass Pendant

$90.00

This pendant is part of our Serendipity Collection of jewelry. It showcases what people love about dichroic glass: the colors are vivid, brilliant, and reflective. It measures 2″ x 1″, excluding the bail.
To make it, a strip of teal “dicro” was positioned vertically over a rectangle of white glass. The right half of the “dicro” was capped with a strip of iridescent, transparent lavender glass, and the left was covered with a line of chunky glass frit. Finally, yellow stringers were positioned vertically on either side of the teal “dicro”. The assembly was carefully transferred to an electric kiln where it was fused together at 1375 degrees. After the glass cooled, a silver-plated bail was attached.
The finished product showcases the magic of dichroic glass. The edges of the teal strip display a rich, matte finish, which is how it looks after being fired if not covered by other glass. Where it is covered by the clear frit on the left, the teal is magnified and the color is brighter, as if seen under water. On the right, the “dicro” is so reflective that the lavender glass appears to glow by itself. It also changes color, shifting from blue to purple, thanks to its iridescent coating. Looking at this pendant will never get tiring. You can order a chain for it when you check out — you’ll see our most popular options next to the items in your shopping cart– and a bigger selection of chains and clasps can be found here.
