The dogs on this silver charm were inspired by the scene on an antique Doulton Lambeth harvest jug. The scene always includes a horse at full gallop ridden by a man blowing a hunting horn, five dogs on the run, and a stag. These features are “sprig formed” and applied as raised decorations. Jugs range in size from decorative pieces barely 2″ tall, to practical serving pieces up to 9″ high. The design elements are tiny on the smallest jugs and quite large and detailed on the bigger ones. These dogs are typical of the smallest jugs.
