Ultra-Violet Premium Dichroic Glass Pendant

This pendant is part of our Serendipity Collection of jewelry and showcases the quality people love about dichroic glass: the colors are vivid, brilliant, and reflective. It measures 2″ x 1″, excluding the bail.
To make it, three narrow strips of textured”dicro” were cut and assembled vertically on a black glass rectangle. A strip of clear glass was then placed horizontally over center of the rectangle. As a finishing touch, three horizontal, dichroic stringers were spaced evenly over the piece. The layers were fused together in an electric kiln at 1475 degrees. When cool, a silver-plated bail was attached. The finished product displays the two different finishes dichroic glass can develop during firing. Where it is capped with clear glass, the colors are supersaturated and a lot of depth can be seen upon close examination. Where it is left uncovered, a rich, matte finish develops. They are different but equally beautiful.
