This silver pendant, inspired by an antique button, features a sheaf of oats — a staple of the horse’s diet for centuries. The earliest writings about them are found in Roman documents from about 100 C.E. It’s no surprise. Oats are easy to digest, palatable, nutritious, and contain an ideal balance of protein, calcium, and phosphorus. And, they are easy to chew, even for older horses with poor teeth.
