Set of 3 Confetti art glass catch-all dishes 3″
These small dishes are part of our Art Glass Collection of home decor. They measure 3″ in diameter. Two different sets of Confetti dishes are shown here, and you can see that they vary slightly by color. Since they are all handmade no two products are exactly the same. If you have a specific color request, let me know.
Creating them was a 4-step process. First, circles of clear glass were cut to the dimensions of the finished dishes. On top of the clear glass, bits of colored glass the size of fine gravel (known as “frit”) were sprinkled. The circles were then placed in a kiln and heated to 1475 degrees, the melting temperature of glass, and the pebbles melted and sank into the clear glass surface. One more firing was required to transform them from flat circles into dishes. This time the glass was placed on top of molds in the kiln, where they were heated to 1250 degrees. At this temperature the glass softened and gravity caused it to sink into the molds and assume the final shapes.
I hope you enjoy this trio of unique art glass trinket dishes. They are at home serving small food items, holding votive candles, organizing paper clips in the office, displaying decorative soap in the bathroom, or simply sitting and being admired. With so many uses they are a perfect gift for anyone who appreciates nice things.
