Hanoverian Trinket Dish – Iridescent Gold Art Glass with Applied Paint 3″

$29.00

This small bowl is part of our Breed Symbol Collection of equestrian home decor. It measures 3″ x 3″.

I hope you enjoy this versatile, one-of-a-kind, art glass piece. Use it to hold jewelry, change, or keys. Put a small candle or decorative soap in it. Use it to serve dips and small food items. Or put it on a stand and simply enjoy the play of colors. It makes a lovely gift for anyone with a special affinity for Hanoverian sport horses, but would be extra special for a friend who recently purchased (or lost) a Hanoverian horse. Or collect all our breed dishes for a truly special display. Note: More breed symbol dishes are planned. If there is one you pine for, let us know, and we’ll bump it to the top of this list.

Creating it was a 4-step process.
Glass Selection: First, two squares of glass were cut to the size of the finished dish and stacked, with gold iridized glass over clear.
Creating the Design:The Hanoverian Warmblood breed symbol was hand-painted on the top layer of glass using charcoal grey enamel paint.
Fusing in the Kiln: The glass was placed in a kiln and heated to 1475 degrees, the temperature at which the layers fused together and the paint permanently bonded to the glass.
Shaping the Dish: One more firing was required to transform it into a dish. To do this the fused square was placed in the kiln on top of a mold and was heated to 1250 degrees. At this temperature the glass softened, and gravity caused the square to sink into the mold and assume its final shape.
