Boots & Horseshoe Nails Art Glass Panel – Gold on Patterned Glass 5″

Creating it was a 5-step process.
Glass Selection: First, a square of iridized transparent khaki glass was cut to the size of the finished piece.
Creating the Background Pattern:Next, small clear glass squares were cut and arranged on top of the khaki glass.
Fusing in the Kiln: The two layers were placed in a kiln and heated to 1475ºF, the temperature at which glass melts, and the layers fuse together. The clear tiles melted completely into the base layer diluting of the base color and creating a grid-like, light and dark effect.
Applying the Design: After cooling, the riding boots and horseshoe nails were applied by hand using special mica paint.
Fusing in the Kiln: To set the paint and fire polish the rim, the piece went back into the kiln and was heated again, this time to 1375ºF.
